This song by The White Stripes is one of their biggest hits and like many of their songs, the drumming is relatively simple. That makes it a fun and easy song for any beginner drummer to learn. In the lesson at Simpledrummer.com, I break down the drum parts that Meg White plays as well as the structure of the song itself. It features a well known guitar riff that repeats throughout the entire song and interestingly enough, makes a great chorus without any lyrics sung over it at all. The drumming in Seven Nation Army is mainly based on a 1/4 note rhythm played with the feet and Floor Tom. When the riff kicks into full blast with what would be the chorus, the groove moves to the cymbals. In this part of the song, the drums match the guitar riff by playing a triplet rhythm.
