"Rock Me Baby" by B.B. King | Easy Songs For Drums | Drum Cover | Blues Drum Lesson
Apr 15, 2023
"Rock Me Baby" by B.B. King is a great song for a beginner drummer to explore a shuffle beat. Blues music is usually based on a triplet rhythm. When we don't play the middle note of each triplet, we get the shuffle rhythm. This is one the best songs for beginners to start playing shuffle beats.
Rock Me Baby is a 12-bar blues, which is a song cycle. That means that the entire song is the same 12-bar chord progression that repeats. It is important to get to know this structure and how it sounds. This song is very simple to play and easy to hear the blues progression. In the last bar there's a change to the drumming to mark the end of each repetition.
