Most blues songs follow a standard 12-bar blues form. Occasionally you will catch a song that borrows the Verse/Chorus form that we hear in most popular music. "Born Under A Bad Sign" by Albert King is a classic example of a cross-over blues song. The parts are fairly simple to play on the drums, but there are a few tasty nuggets to catch. The drummer is Al Jackson Jr. who is known for his work with many artists including Booker T, Otis Redding and more. The groove he plays features a "ghost" note which adds a lot of character. This is a note that is played very quietly within the groove pattern. Check out the full lesson where I'll break down all the parts and we can practice them together in the play-along videos.
